The Buck Rock Foundation & Cal Fire teamed together again this year to have the Blue Ridge Fire Lookout open & staffed during the Tulare County Fair. Fire Lookouts, Christopher Pope, Judy Tucker, Terry McCord, & John Synder represented the Foundation and gave tours of the decommissioned Lookout that is on display at the fair grounds.
Over the course of three days, hundreds of adults and children visited the Blue Ridge Lookout and the Buck Rock Foundation information Table. Visitors learned about the Osborne Firefinder, the role lookouts serve in protecting our wildlands, and the importance of having “eyes on the forest”. A great time was had by those who staffed the Lookout & those who visited.
